With all the functionality upgrades that Android has unveiled on the 4.3 build of the Jelly Bean operating system, it’s no wonder that users are holding their breaths for the platform to hit their devices. The wait to experience all that Android 4.3 offers is almost over – and you don’t have to wait for your phone manufacturer to push the build to your device, nor do you need to root your handset and install a custom ROM.
The tech enthusiasts over at VidxHD have released a video detailing how to port all that Android 4.3 goodness on to your device without the risk and hassle of rooting it. Phone Arena came across this free and easy way to get Android 4.3 on to one’s handset and has listed a number of download links to use for the same.
Using the Apex Launcher as detailed by the video guide will get you acquainted
with Android 4.3 before you actually receive the build from your manufacturer. Though it lacks the speed and performance of the official build, it does give you a good look and feel of the platform. Moreover, the Apex Launcher is quite fast on its own, making up for speed and responsiveness somewhat.
If you want to go the Android 4.3 way on your handset, you can use the links listed out by VidxHD and PhoneArena and start the process by replacing your phone’s launcher with the Apex Launcher. You then need to edit the launcher theme to Jelly Bean Apex/Nova Theme. Next, replace the keyboard with the Google Keyboard and the lock screen with the Holo Locker.
After that, change your text messaging app to a stock Android messaging app. The next step involves replacing the calculator with the CyanogenMod Calculator. All standard apps then need to be replaced with Google apps. To complete the changeover to version 4.3, finally replace the camera app with Camera and Gallery JB Official and the clock with JClock JB+.
