Scratch Disk Full Photoshop

In this Post I am Going to tell How to solve Scratch Disk Error in Photoshop.

At first I am Going to tell , what is the reason for this error.

It may be because of Your RAM and Harddisk.

Latest and Upcoming versions of Photoshop requires Minimum of 8GB of RAM. In that case if you have lesser RAM, it occupies the Harddisk and Hence you have minimum of 30GB of free space for Virtual Memory and storage of Temporary Data.

But In Most of the Cases we might have lesser memory in OS installed disk (which is your primary Scratch Disk), because of various applications. Hence select the other Disks also for scratch disk.

Go to Edit > Preferences > General or Press ctrl + k (tried it in Adobe Master collection CS6).

Then Navigate to Performance Tab and Select the Amount of RAM to be used and select the Disks to be used as Scratch Disk on the same tab.

Tips

• Regularly run a disk defragmentation utility on the drive you use as the scratch disk to free up space.
• Set the preferences so the scratch disk size shows under the photo rather than the default file size.
• Buy more RAM for your PC to make sure it's maxed up.
