In this post, I am going to explain how to merge a Video with an External Audio in simple steps. First you will need a software called Avidemux which of size 11MB. Now you might be asking a question that "I have format factory, why should I need this software". Because format factory may show an error called Install codecs while processing 720p or 1080p videos and its a little bit slower in processing videos. This software which am going to explain is light weight and faster in processing videos. Before going to merge the video and audio you should first edit the video so that the audio matches the video. You might use Softwares like Audacity , sound forge, Format factory to edit audio. In my point of view Audacity is the best and easy to edit Audio.
Download Avidemux here
Just follow the steps to Merge audio and video.
Open the Avidemux software.
Go to File -> Open and select the video file.
If you selected a High defintion video , It will prompt a message as shown in fig. If you click yes, it makes some changes in video that results in losing frames but smooth playback(even in low end devices). You can click No if you have better Hardware components.
After the Prompt message, It will show a green screen (If it is a High defintion video) or the thumbnail of the video. Then you have to select the external audio file.
Go to Audio -> Main track or Secondary Track.
Select Main track to replace the Audio in the video and Secondary track to add an additonal audio track over the Main track. It will be helpful while adding background effect or SFX.
After clicking Main track in Audio -> Main track , a pop-up window appears and in the dialog box select External wav or External mp3 in Audio source to add external audio.
You can use the addition options highlighted in the picture to configure the input video.
After you finished adding the files, You have to save the video file. Go to File-> Save -> Save video or just press Ctrl+S.
